How LAFABAH Houston collects, uses, and protects the information you share with us.

Effective date: 20 July 2026

La Famille Bamiléké de Houston (LAFABAH) is a nonprofit cultural association founded in 1986 and based in the Houston, Texas metropolitan area. This policy explains what we do with the information you give us through this website.

Information we collect

We only collect information you choose to give us. That means your name, email address, and any message you send through our contact form or newsletter signup.

We do not run advertising trackers or sell visitor data. Your language preference (English or French) is stored in your own browser so the site remembers it on your next visit — it never reaches our servers.

How we use your information

We use what you share to reply to your message, to send association news and event announcements if you subscribed, and to keep members informed about meetings, programs, and NextGen activities.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your information to anyone. You can ask us to stop contacting you at any time and we will remove you from our lists.

Donations and event registration

Donations are processed by Stripe, and event registration is handled on the WFT Connect portal. When you follow those links you are on their platforms, under their privacy policies.

We never see or store your full card or bank details. We receive only the confirmation and contact details needed to acknowledge your gift or your registration.

Photography at our events

Our gallery features photographs taken at general assemblies, cultural ceremonies, graduations, and other community gatherings. Attending these events may mean appearing in photos we publish here or on our social channels.

If you or your child appears in a photograph you would rather we did not use, email us and we will remove it promptly — no explanation needed.

Young people

Our NextGen programs serve students and youth, but this website is not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

Parents and guardians who believe a child has sent us personal information should contact us so we can delete it.

Your choices

You may ask us what information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Write to us at lafabahouston@gmail.com and we will respond as soon as we reasonably can.

If we make significant changes to this policy, we will update the effective date shown above.
